When I Pray

I love, love, love the sentiment on this card.  I intentionally used it this week for a card for one of my favorite nieces.  She is having a few challenges right now and I think she will appreciate it.  I had to think about this card for a few days before I decided what I wanted to do with it.   I knew I wanted to use the sentiment on the front but wasn't sure how to treat it.

Once I knew that I wanted a sentiment on front, I knew I wanted to stamp on a patterned paper.  This is something  that is new for me.   I tried several papers before I settled on the one I finally used for this card.  I really like patterned paper and have two shelf fulls.  I tend to buy it when it is on sale or clearance and then go through my stacks looking for just the right paper for each card.

This card has several of my favorite things in it, besides the sentiment.  It has one a beautiful pink and green color scheme, gingham, polka dots, pansies and pearls.

I managed to get just about everything I like on this card.  I just realized the only thing I don't have on it is a butterfly.  Hmmm, I think I will die cut some butterflies so they will flutter out of the card when it is opened.  This is a little trick I learned from a friend.  I like having something special when you open the card, but tiny confetti is just a pain to clean up, larger die cuts are not difficult  and if you happen to be a crafter, wonderful to be reused.

This card has been entered into the Our Daily Bread Shining Light Challenge Here.  The challenge this week is to use a border or die cut to add a border to a card.  I have one of my favorite pansy borders on this card as well as the scalloped circle to border the circle used for my sentiment.

  1. What a gorgeous card! I love that sentiment. I have that set, but I have misplaced that stamp. I am hoping it's mixed in with some other stamps. Your niece should treasure this card :)
