This is the second card in a series of three using the same papers. I tried to make each card distinctive, but you will be the judge of that. For today's card I did some heat embossing and ruffled some ribbon.
The medallion is made with an oval sentiment stamp matted with another oval laid over an oval stamp and embossed framed that was fussy cut. Under that is a lace medallion/doily that I heat embossed onto cream cardstock which is matted with a lovely aqua design paper that has been dry embossed and distressed before being matted with more black design paper. Under the endire medallion I tucked some die cut vines and a couple paper roses. I also added a couple of rhinestones, because after all what's a card without bling?
The last two layers of this card were faux stitched by piercing the paper with a piercing tool and then drawing in the thread with a black gel pin. The card front was then mounted onto a black cardstock base.
By the way, All the cards created for this series, which is going to be a class at For Keepsakes in St. Louis, MO, are 6" square. This is my favorite size and shape for a card as it gives plenty of room as a canvas to create.
