Journey with Angels

I am so pleased to share this card with you today.  It's my first card as a guest designer for Our Daily Bread Designs.  I am their guest designer for the month of December and couldn't be more honored.  I have loved and used their stamps for years and wait each month with great anticipation for their new release.

Anyway, on to my card.  This card was made with my youngest daughter in mind.  She has begun a new journey through college.  This is a wonderful and trying time for any young person so I made this card as an encouragement for her during finals week.

This card features a sentiment from s Our Daily Bread Designs G549 Holy Angels Stamp Set.  The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed and then edged with a gold pen.  The design paper is also from Our Daily Bread.  It is their lovely 6 x6 pad,  Winter Collection 2014.  I used three different designs from this pad, one as a mat, one as a background and from the final design I cut out the variously sized stars and edged them in gold before popping them up.  The lovely lattice angel wings are cut from the same paper as the background using Our Daily Bread Design's CSBD50 Angel Wings.

As a final touch I added a few sequins with a dot of gold stickles in the center.  I also added stickles to the background paper here and there and to the center of the stars.  Now this card really twinkles.

Do not forget that it is not too late to participate in Our Daily Bread Design's Shining Lights Challenge.  The current challenge is open until December 15th and the challenge is to create a Christmas card using only Our Daily Bread Design stamps.

  1. Oh, Mary Ann, what a delight for you to be our December Guest Designer! You've made a stunning card, and I love how you've used the beautiful ODBD paper and how you've cut and placed the lovely stars! Beautiful addition of the wings, sequins, and Stickles! Looking forward to next week's card! And what a blessing to read about how supportive your sweet hubby is and how he even buys you ODBD stamps! Warm hugs!
