I recently went to a scrapbook convention and I learned a spiffy new technique to create cards that look as though they have been water colored. I actually spent a good hour at the Art Impressions booth learning the technique. Of course, I also spent quite a bit purchasing all the different stamps and pens to recreate this technique.
After going home and playing with the technique I added a bunch of different stamps I already had to the mix. I found that Judith Stamps peg stamps and tapestry stamps worked quite well too.
At any rate, I am really enjoying experimenting with this technique so you are going to be seeing a number of different cards using it for the next few days.
I originally thought I would create simple cards with just a matted background for this technique, that really didn't happen. Here is what did.
I really like how the diecuts and pastels seem to give these cards a romantic Victorian gingerbread sort of feel. The pale green card was the first one I created and then I decided to add even more diectus for the second card.
What you cannot see in these photos is that I went over the flowers in the images with Stickles Crystal and the flowers really twinkle now. The images really didn't need the glitter, but I just love the way it looks.
